Collection: THIS IS NOT A PIPE (2025)

THIS IS NOT A PIPE is a homecoming show for Levine. After over a 20 year relationship with Purple Haze as a glassblowing artist, she returns with her paints to the industry that became another home, her community. Contrary to the old adage, you can come home again. It's just that home changes for us because we change. Through our layers upon layers of experiences, our picture of life expands.

The concept of layered experiences speaks to Levine's process in her paintings. Each piece isn't just a painting, it's a story of layers, color and texture. For every color you see in her work, the entire canvas is covered in that color which creates a type of bas relief of lines and shapes within the painting. Every color informs the entire composition, much like life and experiences. Life is not experienced alone nor is this show just about Jennifer S. Levine's work. It's about community.

To further this idea of community, Levine will add her signature interactive element for the THIS IS NOT A PIPE show. She will have a large canvas and paints setup for folks to join in on a collaborative piece during the opening and at set times throughout the month the show is on display. But that isn’t all that is in store for opening night, this is also the debut of Sweet n Savory Caterings. Enjoy a wonderful tasting from Denver's newest custom catering company. Gourmet style and chef inspired, the food is sure to be a feast for the eyes and tummy!

So, set your calendar for a lovely evening of art speaking, food tasting, story swapping and general good cheer at one of the coolest gallery spaces in the heart of downtown. JUNE 7TH, doors open at 6:30 pm.
