Temperament is the combination o f mental, physical, and emotional traits of a person, a natural predisposition. We are all shades of emotions, capable of great joys and of great agonies. We have the potential to do amazing, gobsmacked things and cause tremendous harm. We are rough around the edges, we are crisp and linear to a fault. This piece is reflective of that slice of humanity within ourselves. Our differences are underscored as we strive to find those characteristics of what identifies us as independent beings. In so doing, sometimes we lose a bit of our humanity, that common thread that gives our very existence its rich and textured symbiosis. Self-reflection is healthy but also realize and respect that others have their paths as well. As Nietzsche said, “There are no beautiful surfaces without a terrible depth.”
