DAYDREAMER

As a kid, in the late 80’s a boy band from the mid ’60, The Monkees, had a resurgence in pop culture. And, randomly several of us you preteens and barely there teens fell in love with the shadows of some “old” guys touring the country and releasing biographies. Still, today, if ever a song from their TV show or any of their albums come on, I don’t even realize half the time but immediately start singing… I will always that carry that little gal with braces and a shy smile in my heart, suppose that explains a little of this piece but, more so, let us that know sing along:

Cheer up, Sleepy Jean, oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?

My hope is that this piece helps the viewer reflect on halcyon days and take a moment to just breathe and engage their child within us all.
