I'd venture to say the most photographed natural wonder is the sky. It evokes dreams, grand adventures, wishes, visions of ancestors, gods and goddesses, harkens the change of seasons, brings omens of good fortunes and bad, mathematically perfect and chaotically ever-changing. This piece strives to express all those wonderful evocations with its study in blues,  circles of swirling galaxies and the fire of a vibrant, imaginative star that stands stark, guiding the eye as any Polar North should.

Each hour in a day, each season that passes, the sky has its color and purpose. It forecasts the weather, helps farmers with their crops. Its heavenly bodies stand as beacons, giving direction to lost souls and keeping course for sailors. We look to it when we think of loved ones, now gone, knowing they’re watching over us from somewhere unknown. We feel comfort feeling those who are still with us aren’t so far away as long as we are under that same beautiful canopy. This piece emulates all those purposeful moments in a literal stop-motion visual vocabulary. So many shades of life are in the sky… what do you see when you look up?
